La Ferme de l'Hosté – A committed family farm
La Ferme de l'Hosté covers 55 hectares of organically cultivated land . This family adventure began in 1984, when Bernard Debry bought the farm. In the beginning, Bernard mainly grew vegetables and field crops using conventional farming, with a specialty recognized on regional markets: sweet corn and green beans . These products made the farm famous for many years.
Since 2025, the new generation has taken up the torch. Sébastien Debry , Bernard's son, now manages the fields with an innovative and earth-friendly approach. He diversifies crops by introducing aromatic plants, peas, lentils, oilseed flax, rapeseed , as well as cereals such as rye, malting barley and spelt .
At the same time, Capucine Debry, Sébastien's sister, takes care of the tourist side of the farm and raises around twenty chickens . Their eggs are offered for breakfast and brunch to guests, whether they are staying on site or just passing through.
Certified organic since 2015 , the farm is part of an environmentally friendly approach, promoting biodiversity, crop rotation, soil life and solidarity exchanges between local farmers.
We no longer sell directly from the farm (except for lentils harvested in 2025 available at the reception of the gîtes), but you can find some of our products at the Ferme du Peuplier markets , or in organic stores and partner agricultural circuits.
